Musical Edge | South Dakota DJ, Sioux Falls DJ

It's been a long long long time since my last post! I've been extremely busy with starting my new full time job and developing new websites for our company! Here's a summary of the last 6 months of my life after graduating college and moving from Pella, IA to Sioux Falls, SD to start my full time job.

Work, DJ, build websites, work, DJ, build websites, work, DJ, build websites. Sadly, this is the story of my life! The biggest obstacle to overcome with moving to a city 5 hours away is that I had 5 months of DJ contracts in my name out! Hence, every weekend for the past 5 months have been spent driving from Sioux Falls, SD to Des Moines, IA to fulfill all of my contracts. 17,000 miles and 5 oil changes later - the majority of my DJ contracts in Iowa are finished. I can finally relax and take the first break from DJ'n in over two years.

During this time, I also had the chance to build new websites for both of our DJ locations. http://www.siouxfallsdj.net, http://www.iowadj.com, http://www.desmoines-dj.com, and http://www.desmoinesdj.net. Yep, I've been busy continuing to build the online presence for our Iowa DJ and Sioux Falls DJ based companies.

It's been such a busy Fall season that I haven't had the time to stay up to date with the blog! Although, I have extensively updated our YouTube Channel with recent event videos featuring a variety of gig logs. So check out our channel if you're bored!

We recently sponsored a bridal show in Des Moines, IA on September 28, 2008. I still have 5 DJ's on staff in Des Moines, which is why we were part of the show. It was a very successful day as we had a chance to meet hundreds of potential clients. Also, we are in the early stages of negotiating with a couple of reception halls regarding a permanent contract / house dj type of gig!

After long thoughts and deliberation, I have decided to disclose our pricing on the website. My reasoning is complex, but in short - I think it will benefit the price shoppers out there! I believe everyone is a price shopper in their own respect, regardless how "Dutch" they are...everyone wants a good deal. If you're looking at 10 different DJ websites, you're more than likely going to immediately dismiss the one who you have to contact to get rates.

In addition to the creation of the Musical Edge Visual Tour, I also had some fun creating a few flash headers throughout the website. All of the flash efforts I have been working on are geared toward making my website more interactive and extremely visual for our clients. From looking at other company's websites, nearly all of them lack enough photos, video, and interactiveness within their website. Check out our website, what you see is what you get.

I will be moving to Sioux Falls, SD for a full time job in early July. I will be assuming the role of an Online Marketing Strategist at Click Rain and am very excited to get my feet wet in the online marketing industry.

I recently graduated Dordt College with a B.A. in Marketing this last spring and built a professional DJ company based out of Des Moines, IA while in college. I will be leaving our Des Moines based operations in the hands of my former business partner who will continue to run the company, while I start up a branch in Sioux Falls, SD.

I'm excited to experience Sioux Falls for all that it is and take the DJ market by storm. From my understanding, very few DJ companies in the state of South Dakota can match the combination of our beatmixing, top-dollar sound systems, programmed dmx lighting effects, and the efficiency of our web based event planning. Get ready Sioux Falls, there's a new DJ in town.
